Saratoga Springs City was formed and developed by a group of land owners desiring to develop a lakside and foothill community. Near the mouth of the Jordan River there are natural hot springs that inspired early settlers in the are to create a resort known as Beck’ s Saratoga Springs. The resort opened in 1884 and also served as a home for the Beck Family for many years. In the early 1990’s, landowners began to investigate the possibilities of developing the land around the hot springs and Lake Mountain. Saratoga Springs City incorporated in 1997.
In 2007 the population of Saratoga Springs City was 11,570. Saratoga Springs grew very quickly in the 2000’s. The population in 2000 was 1,003. In the year 2000, the median income for Saratoga Springs was $61,923. The total area of Saratoga Springs is 10.3 square miles.
