Lindon City was established in 1850 as an outgrowth of Pleasant Grove City. Lindon City was originally known as Stringtown because the houses were built along a single road. Lindon City became incorporated in April of 1924. Lindon City covers about 8.56 square miles. Lindon is located between Pleasant Grove City and Orem City. The city is approximately 4600 feel above sea level.
